My grandma's birthday is February 2nd and she would have been 99. . .
My grandma loved her plants, trees and shrubs and she taught me to love them as well just by example. In honor of her, on February 3, 2017 my husband and I planted a purple hopseed bush that we bought at the nursery near our home.
I remember often times getting in the car with my grandma and going down to the nursery near her home to get some new flowers or another bag of fertilizer/soil. I love all my memories with my grandma.
This purple hopseed bush is also in remembrance of my husbands grandpa that has gone to heaven at the age of 91. He left us peacefully on February 3, 2017. We had gone to visit him on February 2 and had some great conversation with him for a minute while he was awake. So grateful for that extra time we had with him. He is a great man, father, grandpa, veteran and friend.
Every morning since the planting, I go out and visit with my new purple hopseed bush and I tell both my grandma and my husband's grandpa hello!
