This is exciting but also sad to see this blog come to a close.

I revealed on Instagram and Facebook that Micah Carling Photography has now combined with my Micro Wedding business Meander Gatherings.

All the same services now under one name!

After an incredible journey of 19 years as a wedding & portrait photographer starting December 1, 2024 you can now find me on the page: @meandergatherings

After much thought, I am now offering; with the same passion and same commitment to evolving and to serving you better with the expanded vision of my micro wedding business Meander Gatherings.

Monday Moments Of Me #274

In early October I had the opportunity to see Imagine Dragons in concert during their LOOM tour from the pit, so I saw everything! It was absolutely awesome!

Very talented group. 

It was still so hot here in AZ and the venue is an all outdoor space, yikes! 

Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre kept us cool with fans and misters though :)

It was super fun seeing the bands photographer work from the pit too; running back and forth like crazy, using filters, different lenses, film and digital cameras, I was impressed!

I never saw this coming!

KNEE SURGERY. 

What?!?!?!?!?!

It has been crazy how this happened; the journey and decision for surgery; plus the amount of pain and how hard physical therapy is but I am so grateful for friends and family willing to help so much as I heal.

I am not quite back to 100% and not able to do full workouts yet but I am getting there!

What doesn't kill me can only make me stronger!

Wow! What a month! August was slow for me as a wedding professional BUT the bonus to a slow month; I got the chance to rest and go on a cruise to the Bahamas! Saw so much in Miami, Harvest Cay and Nassau. Ate a traditional Cuban sandwich in Little Havana, My Lisa Frank Loving Heart burst in the Art District, drove down Ocean Drive in South Beach, Saw the Queens staircase & Ft. Fincastle in Nassau and learned about its History. Enjoying the amenities and view while aboard the ship is always a favorite of mine while on a cruise but best of all; creating and capturing the memories!!!!

Taking time for a date night with my husband is a must for me. At least once a month, preferably weekly ;)

It is a great opportunity to take a day off and not think about work and to genuinely enjoy and experience new things as a couple. Basically a Re-boot! 

May's date night was to see Ronny Chieng at the Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix.

It was a great performance, lots of laughs, just what was needed!

Wow! What a month. Both March and April have been busy and it was so nice to have a quick trip up North to some cooler weather, relax and see ZZ Top as well as Black Moods play at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, AZ. It was a quick trip but was very much needed; time with my husband and time to just getaway from the everyday hustle and bustle of being a business owner.

I have this adorable greenhouse that is available for reservations in Gilbert, AZ not far from downtown.

I use it for Small Micro Weddings mostly but I wanted to share it with others as well!

February 2024!

I love the month of February....why?  Why Not? It is best to love every month, week, day, hour and minute! Enjoy it all is my motto.

Because it is my anniversary month PLUS it is all about LOVE (Valentines Day) and all the PINK decor in the stores instantly puts a smile on my face.

Speaking of love and smiles on my face . . . Oh These Two!

They really are besties and it is so adorable to watch them run and play and even go on walks together, then once they are worn out they even take naps and give me the stare down if I get out the camera....hehe

December 2023 was absolutely a blast!

I loved all the gatherings with friends and family (personally and professionally) and date nights doing all things Christmas! Driving through neighborhoods looking at lights, going to the Pratt Brothers Christmas at Rawhide, hot cocoa and early morning walks with my dog and cat!

Now on to 2024!!!

Wow, how are we already here? This year has gone by so quickly.

This is my favorite time of year! 

I love to drive through neighborhoods and look at all the lights and holiday decor. It makes me so happy!

All the extra family and friends getting together and all the Holiday events, I am here for it all!!!

Monday Moments Of Me #261

Crossing things off my bucket list feels so good! I went on a cruise into Canada, Maine and New York in August. Absolutely a blast! I highly recommend cruising, it was nice not having to make my own itinerary, entertainment and figuring out where to eat, I felt spoiled! 

Seeing so many iconic landmarks was breathtaking and learning of the history was incredible too!

Where to next?

I am thinking maybe a European Cruise. Wanna come?

Monday Moments Of Me #260

I just can not get over how these two get a long so well.  KitKat and Snickers play together daily and love on one another and take naps together every.single.day! It is so dang adorable! I am so happy they have a close bond as sisters. They definitely keep me smiling and entertained.

I got to get out of my normal day to day and head to Chester West Virginia Mid July for a week!

My favorite part about this trip is visiting a good friend and state hopping!

It was a fantastic trip filled with sightseeing, visiting and shopping!

Dined in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and even found a Costco to check out!

The bridge in Ashtabula Ohio was a first for me to see! Incredible watching it raise and boats come through and then it closing again. Such a darling city too.

Walnut Beach (Lake Erie) was breathtaking! Spent the day relaxing next to the waves getting plenty of vitamin D. 

Walking the cute and quaint streets in Chester West Virginia is always calming and peaceful for me. As well as seeing the barges on the Ohio River while visiting the Chester City Overlook on my morning walks!

Antique Shopping in East Liverpool Ohio was checked off my bucket list!

I can not wait for the next trip to see what is in store!

Life in Perspective, July 2023 Edition.

When up in the rafters doing some deep cleaning...15 or 20 feet from the ground...

While using balance alone... Life quickly flashes before your eyes...

All I could think about is that I should not have been climbing a ladder and walking on beams 15 or 20 feet above the floor ALONE with no-one there just in case something was to happen... Once I pushed past these thoughts and got to work...how satisfying it was to get the beams and rafters clean and to know I did this scared, I finished, I conquered! I did it.

How grateful I am for my health, my vision, my hearing, my balance, my work opportunities, my family, my pets, for music, for food, for sunlight, for pushing past fear, for EVERYTHING. 

We are all stronger than we think, I am a firm believer in this!

It had been about 1 year!

Yes, 1 year since I had been camping....ok glamping now that I have an awesome travel trailer.

It was time.to.get.out and I did not care that it was going to be in the high 80's......

It is just what I needed. Beautiful views. Naps. Walks. No emails. No work. Just chilling with the furry critters....KitKat and Snickers. Perfection!

Now I am back and recharged! Nature is miraculous.
